It's About You Right?

Sacrificing our selfish instinctive urges can be difficult sometimes. To be honest we all have selfish moments and we all have things we want in our life. But that doesn't make it right because if we only focus on the things we want and our desires we neglect the people around us and the people who need us. There have been moments in my life where I have been selfish and didn't realize it. We can get so caught up in ourselves and the things we feel we need that we  lose sight of our purpose in life. There are many books and blogs that try and inform people on how to find their purpose and what signs they should look for. You will never find your purpose in a book or a website the only way is seeking God. We can't expect to take our eyes off of ourselves and focus on our mission in life without Gods help.

Philippians 2;4 says "Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."

Are you selfish?
One of the most unselfish things you can do in your life is put other people before you put yourself. I'm not saying that you shouldn't care about yourself and your life. What I am saying is we must learn to be selfless which means not having concern for self all the time. Being selfish blocks many people from getting the things God has for them. Be willing to do things for others that showcase your love towards them.

Has Justice Been Served?

Martin Family.
For weeks the killing of Trayvon Martin has been a national debate about police profiling, self defense laws and racism. What many fail to understand  is that the killing happened February 26 and was elevated by social media. Anyone who says there voice doesn't matter is lying to themselves with twitter and facebook you may take a stand for just about anything and many let themselves be heard in this Trayvon case.
Zimmerman was taken into custody and was charged with 2nd degree murder after weeks and weeks of people protesting and asking where is the justice? I'm not saying the case is over and we can all move on now because there has been a arrest. To be honest things are now really picking up and we are just one step closer to justice and we don't know the facts. Just because he is charged doesn't me he has been convicted of anything. Lets all pray for Zimmerman and his family as well as the family of Trayvon this shouldn't be about race. A young man lost his life over what? That's the real issue here not that he was black or white but he is no longer here. Lets learn a thing or two from the events that have happened in this case and let's pray for all parties involved.

Instagram: From Zero To A Billion?

Instagram founders Kevin Systrom & Mike Krieger.
Starting something new or beginning  a new chapter in your life can be inspiring and exciting yet nerve wrecking. Many people have ideas and visions to do something great but they are afraid to make a move forward toward there dream or passion. Kevin Systrom won big this week when Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg called him to personally negotiate the deal for the social media giant "Instagram" which him and his partner started about 2 years ago which has a loyal following of 30 million users but never made a dime. What is amazing to me is that he did it and started the company because he was passionate about it. He said in an interview that "We've had a amazing time watching Instagram grow into a vibrant community of people from all around the globe." Pretty sure that the 28 year old when he launched his company didn't think 18 months later he would have sold it for 1 billion in cash and stocks. What we can learn from this is that God can do anything and if he is put first he will add to our lives be thankful where God has you because like Kevin saw things can change very fast.

Comments About Castro Right Or Wrong?

comments right or wrong?
We live in a world where we can say anything we want but does that make it right to make any kind of comment we want? We can learn a thing or two from Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen was suspended for five games Tuesday because of his comments about Fidel Castro. Castro was a dictator whose authoritarian administration has overseen multiple human rights abuses both at home and abroad. The controversy that surrounds his comments are major Guillen told Time magazine he loves Castro and respects the retired Cuban leader for staying in power so long. I respect anyone who isn't afraid to speak there mind but their are some things that should be left unsaid. In the bible it says in Proverbs 18; 21 The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. Maybe Ozzie Guillen never read that or he just had a moment but either way we can learn from this and see that a few words can get us in a lot of trouble. After things happen all we can do is move on and move forward at least Ozzie was a man about it and made a statement  “I’m very sorry about the problem, what happened,” he said. “I will do everything in my power to make it better. ... I know it’s going to be a very bumpy ride.” Learn from your mistakes and try not to make the same once twice and be mindful of the words that come out of your mouth.
