| Do you want a person's hand OR God's hand on your life? |
When you think of the word favor what comes to mind? It means different things to different people but I have learned over time that the word favor means to give special regard to; to treat with goodwill; to show exceptional kindness to someone. Sometimes, it means to show extra kindness in comparison to the treatment of others; that is, preferential treatment. When I read what the word really meant I saw that kindness stood out to me. Kindness is something that is lost today people aren’t as kind as they should be and it confuses me because the same people who are rude and mean. Are the same people who are in the church and are asking God for his favor? Now a child could tell you that doesn’t make much sense how are you asking for something that you aren’t even doing yourself.
Psalm 90; 17 Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!
The favor of God is something we don’t have to work for but it is something that we have to reach out and try to get. And one way to get God’s favor is to do the things that are pleasing to him. Many times we try to do things are way then ask God to show us favor so we can get something that we want! Not something that God wants for our life but we make it about us and then try and figure out why God isn’t with us. Put the things of God first and then see how God will give you favor and open doors that no man can close.
