Do You Have A Voice?

Stand up or Sit Down..
There are over 7 billion people in the world and each and every person has a opinion of some kind. There are things that happen everyday in the world and everyday in your community that you can be making a stand for. But the question I have today is are you standing for something because everyone else is or are you standing because you truly believe in your heart you should? Making a stand for something means that you really don't care about people talking about you or the backlash you may receive from your choice. If you are a Christian you should make a stand for who and what you believe and that's Jesus Christ. But why today do we have so many people who are afraid to stand up or voice what they feel is right? I truly have respect for anyone who will stand up and not back down about what they think is right. Are you a person that just goes with the crowd or do you really stand and believe in justice and making a difference not only in the world but your own backyard.

Is Tiger Back?

Is he back?..
Tiger Woods who on Sunday played in the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill was by far not expected to win. Tiger who was the best player in the world & holds the record for the most consecutive weeks at number one (281, from June 12, 2005 to October 24, 2010), as well as the most total weeks in the position at 623. When entering into the Arnold Palmer Invitational Tiger hadn't won a PGA event since September 13, 2009. Why is this important? Because he could have easily given up and stopped playing. We all for the most part are aware of what Tiger has gone through during the last few years; however, all we can do is learn from other peoples mistakes and their short comings. What we can learn from Tiger is that if we stay focused on what we are called to do and our purpose we can overcome anything!

When we as believers put God first and let God lead us we will have some tough days and some hard days but in the mist of it he will keep us and get us through. I respect Tiger Woods because this is a guy who didn't let the world and what they thought and felt about him stop him from focusing on the tasks at hand & that was winning the tournament and gaining some type of respect back from his peers and the world.

Knowledge Is Power Right?

I heard someone say before that "Knowledge is power" if thats the case there are a lot of people walking around powerless. In the Bible it clearly says in Hosea 4: 6 (KJV) My people perish from a lack of knowledge. Many people have no idea that they are lacking wisdom, understanding and guidance in there life. For so long they have been getting all their knowledge from the wrong sources. Let's be real we live in a world where at the click of a button we can get access to anything we want. So it's easy to gain worldly knowledge and not Godly Knowledge there is a difference.

  • Wisdom- The quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment.
  • Understanding- The ability to understand something; comprehension.
  • Guidance-  Advice or information aimed at resolving a problem or difficulty.
Feeling Powerless...Why?

These 3 principles above are very important but if we are only getting wisdom, understanding & guidance from people around us and things we read online or watch on TV we are in major trouble. The things in the world aren't always of God.  Many things in the world are sent from the enemy to distract us from our purpose and that's putting God first and seeking his wisdom, understand & guidance. The bible is the only source at the end of the day we should run to pick up for everything we need to know as it relates to the blueprint God has designed to orchestrate our lives.

Trayvon Martin

Pray for his family & other young people around the world.
Everyone has a voice & with that voice we all have a obligation to use it. Many people have been making comments about the Trayvon Martin situation & we all have an opinion. In my opinion In the case of Trayvon we need to make a stand against a racially charged crime. We have many problems in the black community that need to be addressed and standing up for this particular incident should not be the only time you choose to take a stand. We must not only seek justice but we need to seek changes in our laws that are beyond crazy.

We put so much trust in the law and law makers but at the end of the day all we have is God to trust because who knows if justice will be served in this case. I encourage you, if you have influence let your voice be heard and stand up for what you believe.

Tebow Time In NY?

Yesterday Tim Tebow got traded to the New York Jets and since then traditional and social media have been going crazy. If you didn't know by now Tim Tebow is a devoted Christian and has caught a lot of heat because of his faith and beliefs. Tebow said in a interview "I'm thankful (the Jets) believed in me and stuck with me through this whole crazy process today."My respect for Tim is high because he carries himself with integrity. When the Broncos (Tebow's team before he was traded) acquired Peyton Manning there were talks that Tim's playing days were over.Despite the obvious adversity he faced he kept his head up and didn't let what was going on around him to alter who he was. He trusted that everything would be okay. We can't always control what is going on around us because many times it's not in our hands. During these times all we can do is believe that everything is going to be alright because we have God in our corner backing us up.

Why Are You Doubting..

It never feels good when people around us or people we love doubt our abilities or drive. Everyone has purpose and everyone has been called to accomplish something in their life. But along the way we allow what someone thinks or them doubting us stop us from moving forward with our mission. We can't forget our purpose and the plan for our lives because we will be cheating ourselves and the people around us. What if Jesus would have forgotten his purpose? We wouldn't be forgiven for our sins and we wouldn't be covered in grace and mercy. Don't let someone make you doubt your purpose and stop you from accomplishing your dreams and passion.

The Leverage and Advantage of using Social Media In Your Ministry

Social Media is here to stay and that has major implications for the business and church. Business have mastered social media and they know where to advertise and what audience they want to reach. Ministries should take this same approach but the question is why don't they?

If you look at the word social media the key word is "Social" being social is  relating to society. The church as a whole does the worst job at this. Being social means we must go outside the four walls and reach the community talk about and meet about real issues that people are dealing with. Social media is a powerful tool that every ministry should take advantage of. There's no reason why every church or pastor of a church shouldn't have some type of social media outlet they are actively using as an outlet! Because through twitter, facebook and others you can connect with people even more frequently throughout the week as oppose to only on the weekend. I challenge and urge any leader to utilize and take advantage of these powerful tools.

What Team Are You Rolling With?

March madness is here! Like many of you I have filled out my bracket and I have put hopes in a team to make it all the way. In life we do the same we put our hopes in something or someone and when they let us down we cry or complain. Like you I have put my trust in something or someone and it didn't work out like I thought. The older I get the more I see who I can trust and lean on and his name is God. God has never let me down and he always wins. A few teams I have put in my bracket that I thought were going to win have already let me down. I was disappointed but remembered no one is perfect and you can't put all your trust in people.

What team you got?......
If we look at people in the bible who trusted God they always won! And Jesus spoke throughout the New Testament of how if you put your trust in God he will never let you down. If you're like me and you hate to lose or you don't like being down I encourage you to get up and trust God the one who you can always trust and count on. As you watch the NCAA tournament and watch teams lose remember in life that you will always win with God good luck with your brackets!

Who Cares?

Many times we get so caught up in the issues and the struggles of life that we think we are alone and no one cares. Well at least I have been at the point Sometimes I feel like no one cares and I have to take on the world all alone. The worse thing you can do is isolate yourself from people. When you're alone your mind can and will start to wander. I'm reminded of 1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." We forget that God cares and that Jesus became God in the flesh so he could relate to our everyday struggles and pain. Jesus went through everything that we are going through today and he showed us that we can get through it. He will never put more on you then you can handle. You live in a real world with problems and challenges why stress just give it over to him and let him handle and give you the strength you need to overcome.

It's so important to put yourself around people who understand and care. I use to be so closed in and I would not open myself up because of fear and being judged. Keep people in your life who can relate to your stuggles and your situations. You are never alone. The devil wants you to feel alone and like no one cares about you but Jesus cares. Ask him to put people around you who care and have overcome your struggles as a reminder that you too can be an overcomer.
